Can ChatGPT make a clapping cat video of my pet?

Make your pet clap: upload a photo ↓
No, not in the chat. When we asked ChatGPT on October 26, 2026 to turn a photo of a dog into a video of him clapping, it said it can't generate the video itself and wrote a prompt to paste into another AI video app. To get the actual clip, upload one full-body photo of your cat or dog below: a 10-second clapping cat video of your own pet, ready in 2 to 5 minutes, $5.90 for one video.
What ChatGPT can and can't do here
- Make the video: no. In the chat you get text and pictures, not an MP4 of your pet clapping. OpenAI's own video app, Sora, was shut down on April 26, 2026 (OpenAI Help Center).
- Write a prompt: yes. Upload your pet's photo and it describes the animation for you to paste into an image-to-video app, where you pay and retry there.
- Help with the post: yes. Ask it for a caption, like "my cat when I finally take the trash out".
Why its prompt doesn't give you the meme
The prompt ChatGPT wrote for us asks for the dog to "clap his front paws together". The clapping cat is funny because of something else: the pet stands up, grins with human teeth and claps small human hands. In our tests, prompts that only ask for paws make an ordinary cute pet video. The prompt we use spells out the hands, the grin and the camera, and you can read it in full in our clapping cat prompt guide.
Make it from one photo here
- Choose one photo: one cat or dog, whole body in frame, facing the camera, in good light.
- Upload it above. It has to be your own pet. To be in the video too, choose "You + your pet" and add a photo of you.
- Pay once: $5.90 for one video; $14.90 for 3, $19.90 for 5. No account, app or subscription.
- Wait 2 to 5 minutes, then download the 10-second vertical MP4 and post it.
If it doesn't come out right
A video that comes out clearly broken gets its cost back. A sharper full-body photo usually fixes a blurry face or extra objects.
