What is the clapping cat meme?
Updated · Clapping Cat AI
It's a short AI-generated clip of a black cat that stands up, grins with a row of human teeth and slowly claps a pair of tiny human hands. Know Your Meme files it as Black Cat Clapping. The clip dates to September 25, 2026 and spread on TikTok in early October, mostly as a green-screen reaction that means sarcastic applause.

Clapping Cat: a real result
The photo
Is it a real cat?
No. The clip was made with AI, which is why the cat has human teeth and small human hands. That uncanny mix is the whole joke: a deadpan black cat giving you a slow, judgmental round of applause.
How do people use it?
- As a green-screen reaction: the clapping cat sits in the corner of someone's video, clapping at a bad decision, a weak excuse or a terrible take.
- With a caption: the clip on its own, captioned with whatever deserves the sarcastic applause.
- With their own pet: people started asking how to make their own cat do it, which is what this site does from one photo.
Can I make my own cat do it?
Yes. Upload one full-body photo of your cat (dogs work too) and the AI makes a new 10-second video: your photo for a moment, then your pet stands up in its own room, grins and claps. It's not the original clip with your cat pasted in; it's a new video made from your photo. One video is $9.90.
